1st Day of School

Image
I can't believe that today is the first day of school. It seems as if I blinked and summer went by. We had a great summer that kept us very busy, but we enjoyed every minute of it! Now I have 2 girls who are in school full-time. That just doesn't seem possible. They both seemed to have a great first day of school. Here are a few pictures from our first day of school. This is one of Makayla's best friends who also happens to be in her class this year! She was so excited to get to be in a class with her other than just Sunday School. Myah was all ready to have a day with just mommy. She told everyone that she wanted to go to the park and take a bike ride and play barbies. I think we got 2 out of the 3 things done. It sure did seem strange to only have 1 at home with me. This is Myah with her best friend playing at the park! I told a friend today that the more kids I have and the older they get, or maybe it is the older I get, time seems to fly even quicker. It

I Want Candy......

Image
On our last day at "home" me and my mom took the girls to a park, that way they could run off some energy before being stuck in the van for 3 hours. Then we headed to the candy store. Yes....there is actually a candy store there with you guess it candy! I remember going there as a kid and I couldn't wait to take the girls. The girls each got to pick out 2 pieces of candy. Then I also filled a bag up for me for the trip home. I know some of my friends reading this right now are saying to themselves.... Candy I can't believe she gives her girls candy ! I'm actually not a huge fan of candy for my kids just because of all of the sugar and it so bad for your teeth, but I figure a special little treat here and there is okay. The kids haven't figured out yet that at Halloween about a week later I usually go through all of their candy and pitch most of it leaving just a little for them to pick through. They never seem to mind. I suppose the real issue is I

We had a Mooing Good Time!

Sorry I am a little behind, I have been meaning to post these pictures all week long and just can't seem to find any time to sit down and do it. While we were home last week one of the things we did was go to a very large dairy farm called Fair Oaks . My in-laws had been talking about this place for a couple of years and thought the girls would really enjoy going so we finally all made it out there. I just couldn't picture what this place would look like or smell like with 30,000 cows. The strange thing was you didn't hear or smell any cows. There were lots of things to do especially for the kids. They take you on a 45 minute bus ride out to where all the cows are. Here you can see all of the cows being milked. It is quite a process. The cows are milked 3 x's a day. We were able to go with both my parents and Jeremy's parents. We made a whole day of it, we ate lunch there, grill cheese and choc. milk! Yum!! We were able to see a 3D movie which was fun and we were a

Friends

Although I wasn't able to see everyone I wanted to, I was very glad that I was able to catch up with two of my good friends Kim and Jackie. Kim and I were neighbors when we use to live in Dyer. Soon after we met, we discovered that we were both expecting our 1st babies which was fun to go through together. I can't believe how big her boys are now!! I'm so glad that we still stay in touch with one another! I am sure there are many stories I can put in here about me and Jackie growing up together, but maybe I will save those for another post. It was so good to see her and her girls. She has such cute girls and I can't believe how much they look like her!!! The girls had fun playing together and before we got ready to leave I think it was Jackie's daughter who asked if my girls could spend the night at their house. I just love how kids have no barriers with one another, whether they have known each other for years or just met it is like they are instantly bes

Picking Blueberries and other fun things....

Image
One day while we were home we spent the day over at my other mom and dads, a.k.a Jeremy's parents. We had a great time spending the day with them. We first started by taking a tractor ride out to their private orchard and picking berries that Grammy and Grandpa grow. They have a little bit of everything, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, peaches, grapes and apples. The nice things about all of that, is she makes really good jelly from all of that good fruit and shares it with us! After the girls had enough picking there we decided to head out to the blueberry farm. Before we started our picking we had a picnic lunch then we were ready to go. We ended up picking 26lbs. WOW!! The girls did a little picking and a lot of eating. In fact later that night we found out just how much Myah ate of those blueberries because she got sick! She was better by morning just had a few too many blueberries that day!

Kit is on the big screen!

When the girls got their American Girl Dolls this year they were already advertising for the new movie about Kit Kittredge which is the doll that Makayla has. Once we saw the movie was being released in July we thought it would be fun for all us girls to go together! Steph decided she better stay home with Austin since she wasn't sure it would be much of a movie he would like, although after seeing the movie I think he would have enjoyed it too! So me and mom took all the girls and their dolls to see the movie, it was such a good movie! I think the girls really enjoyed getting to bring their dolls with them to the movie!! Thanks Nana for taking us to the movies!!
