On the road again!

Image
Miss Myah was ready for a nap! I think this was before lunch. Of course we left our house that morning very early!! Most of trip we drove in rain. I think once we were in Virginia we finally got a little bit of sunshine. We have driven before through the mountains and I just remember it being so beautiful, so I told Jeremy since we have our new camera I want to do that again so we can stop and take some pictures....... We did get a lot of really nice pictures, but our friends that we were going to stay with, told us that we are crazy for wanting to drive through the mountains. They said they avoid the mountains because someone always gets car sick, well we said no worry, no one got sick before....... We were sure glad to have those sand buckets! We had to make a quick pit stop, cleaned up a little mess and changed an outfit, but after that, we learned from our mistake and everyone got a bucket!!! As soon as we got out of the mountains everyone's tummies finally settled back down,

Our View

Image
Here are some of the views we had from our balcony. We had a great location and even though we weren't right on the ocean we could still see the ocean from our balcony, it was great! Here is a view of one of the pools in our building. There were a couple of pool in each of the buildings and a lazy river that you could use. The first day we were there, there were actually tornado warnings out. We weren't sure if they were for us or not? We went down to the pool that morning because it didn't look very bad, but it was very windy. Soon after we got back up to our room it started pouring out. It was actually kind of fun to watch the storm clouds roll in! After that, it cleared back up and it was a beautiful day outside!

Makayla's Birthday

Image
While we were on vacation we got to celebrate Makayla's 7th birthday. She thought we went to Myrtle Beach just to celebrate her birthday and now we have Myah asking if we can go to Myrtle Beach for her birthday too. Anyways, we celebrated her birthday with a few presents and some Dunkin Donuts for breakfast then enjoyed the rest of the day at the beach. I think if you would ask her, she would say she had a pretty good birthday. That night for dinner we had mac-n-cheese and hot dogs, per Makayla's request. All the restaurants she could have picked and she wanted mac-n-cheese and hot dogs. She got her own Bible from her mom & dad, she was pretty excited to finally have her own!

More pictures

I am starting to run out of clever titles for these posts.....sorry! When we checked into our place where we stayed we received a packet full of information. In that packet was a flyer showing family portraits that you could schedule and have taken which would cost lots of money, so we decided we would set up our tripod and take our own "free" pictures. I am sure if we would have gone in the morning the sun would had been in a better position for pictures with no shadows, but this is what you get for free.

Dragon in the sky

Before we left home Jeremy said we should bring our kite with us to the beach. So we packed it up and were so glad we did. On our last night in Myrtle Beach we went back to the beach after dinner and had a blast flying our kite. It was a great way to spend our last night on the beach! Don't worry there are still some more vacation pictures to come!

Sand castle

Image
I am sure if Jeremy was writing this post he would say how much he hates the beach, or I should say how much he hates the sand. So when I turned around and caught him building a sand castle with the girls, I was very proud of him! He didn't just build a one story sand castle, he built a 3 story sand castle. The girls had lots of fun with daddy that afternoon building their sand castle. After we finished our sand castle there was a family that had their daughter stand by our sand castle to take a picture, it thought that was pretty funny! I guess they wanted a picture by a sand castle but didn't want to build one.

Sand + Water = Beach

Image
The first time we went to the beach, it had rained that morning so we were glad to see the warm sun out and decided it would be a good afternoon to go to the beach. We were probably at the beach for about an hour when all of a sudden there was a blast of air that blew the sand around, we stood there for a minute with towels wrapped around the girls but realized it wasn't going to get any better soon. The girls were crying because the sand was getting into their eyes and it hurt their legs, I was trying to chase down some flip flops and Jeremy was trying to protect our camera under his shirt. Once we finally got off of the beach, Jeremy ran back on the beach to pack up the rest of our stuff. It was pretty crazy, I have never been sand blasted before.
