Surprise.....Aunt Duffy!

Image
We decided after shopping and eating lunch on Black Friday we would go by and surprise Aunt Duffy at work. When we got there she wasn't there, so one of the girls in the office called her and told her she had someone waiting at the office for her. The girls were pretty excited to surprise her and greet her at the door! I was told when I got the her office by some of the other girls that work there that I had not updated my blog since November. It is nice to know I have a few faithful readers! Sorry to keep you girls waiting so long for an update!

Thanksgiving

Image
This year for Thanksgiving my sister and her husband hosted it for all of us. We had such a nice time. The food was delicious and the kids had fun getting to spend the whole day at their cousins house. Here is a picture of the 3 cooks.....my sister, mom and me. Brian got the honors of carving the bird....he did a great job! Here are the kids eating at the kids table. I remember being a kid and eating at the kids table at my grandparents house. One of us has natural curly hair and the other has to pay the big bucks to get a perm, no fair!! I think the girls were playing school here, they love to play that and store! After lunch we played some Wii and looked through the sale papers to figure out where we were heading to go shopping on Friday. Later that evening Jeremy's parent came over and we had dessert and played spoons together. I am thankful for each holiday that we are able to spend together with our families. I love being able to reflect a little bit on Thanksgiving a...

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree....

Image
We always start our Christmas decorating early. Since we usually go back to our parents house for Thanksgiving I like to have all of our decorating done before we leave to go home. Even though we had a couple of sick kids, they all seemed to have fun decorating the tree. Speaking of Christmas, we have started something new this year, thanks to the suggestion from a few good friends. We are reading a story called Jotham's Journey. It is an advent story that we read together as a family. It is broken up for you to read a few pages each night and then finish reading the story on Christmas morning. It has been so fun to read and the girls are anxious to read every night wondering what will happen next. It is another great way for us to help our kids understand that there is more to Christmas than just the lights and cookies and gifts and to help us put our focus on the real meaning of CHRISTmas. "At just the right moment, God sent Jesus quite unexpectedly to save us from ...

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Well....here are the only pictures I have from Jeremy's birthday, can you believe that. I surprised him on Friday night with a poker party with a few of his buddies. I made some of his favorite snacks and had lots of Mountain Dew. Jeremy's parents were in town this weekend for Grandparents Day at school so they planned to take the girls back to the hotel with them that night. So I had Jeremy go and pick up a movie for us to watch, or at least that's what he thought we were going to do, then when he got back home I had all of the food set out and the poker chips and cards on the table ready to go. He wasn't sure what was going on at first he just saw all the food and wondered why I made all of that for just the two of us to eat while watching our movie. So I finally had to tell him what was going on. After all the food was ready, I left so it could just be the guys. I have no clue what all went on that night, but when I got back home around 11, they were all in t...

Well....in case some of you were wondering if I had given up on this blogging thing I haven't we have just been so busy, with birthdays and sickness and Thanksgiving and more sickness and now it is almost time for Christmas. I thought I better catch up on my blogs before it's 2009 and give my sister-in-laws office something to read for Monday morning! S0 back to November. I blogged about Myah's birthday party, but I have some pictures from her birthday. It was a beautiful day and the 2 older girls were off from school due to Parent Teacher conferences so I decided to take the girls out for the afternoon. So we headed out to McD's and grabbed lunch and took it to a new park we found. We had so much fun we were there for over 3 hours. Her sisters sure do love her and Myah sure does love them! Here's the fun park we found - can't wait to go back there in the Spring! They also had some woods nearby the park where we could walk around on the trails and listen to al...

Family

On Sunday the kids were a part of KidStuf at our church. Since our families were already in town for Myah's birthday it worked out great for most of them to stay and watch the girls. It was really nice to have all of our family together at church. We don't get that opportunity very often. We took a few pictures before leaving for church. Myah and her Aunt Duffy Didn't have to ask the girls to smile here Grandparents are special people! Cousins are so much fun! That is a pretty good looking family! Myah loves her cousin Austin!

Yummy Dora Cake

Image
I asked Myah what theme she wanted to have for her birthday, it didn't take her long to think about it, she said Dora. Believe it or not this is the first Dora birthday we had, I thought for sure I had done Dora with one of the other girls but there are no pictures to prove it. Thanks to my good friend who made the cake for us. It was really yummy! Myah and Papa enjoying some birthday cake together!
