A trip to Chicago!

In case you are wondering, I have skipped blogging for the months of Jan-May. I am hoping to go back and catch up on those too, but I was trying to get some more current stuff on here. Just about every week my to-do list contains blogging, but I guess there just aren't enough hours in the day for me to get everything done on my list. Now that the girls are back in school and all 3 of them are in school now, we will see if I can get this up to date.


While we were home this summer for a couple of weeks. We took a day and just our family went to Chicago. Of course the first stop we had to make was at the American Girl store since the girls had been saving their money for the last several months so they could get a doll.


What a good dad....willing to take his girls to their favorite store.

After lunch we took a carriage ride around downtown Chicago and out on Lake Shore Drive, it was beautiful!!


We happened to go to Chicago on our Anniversary. Can't believe we are old enough to celebrate 14 years.


Later that afternoon Grammy and Grandpa came and got the girls and took them home with them so that Jeremy and I could enjoy some time by ourselves and celebrate our anniversary.

After enjoying a nice meal at the Weber Grill we went on a sunset boat ride, it was beautiful and the weather that night was beautiful as well!

From our home to yours....

Welcome to our home at Christmas. When I heard that Boomama was going to be having a Christmas Tour of Homes , I thought that sounded like so much fun because so many of our family and friends aren't able to make it out to visit us during the Christmas season. So here are a few pictures of our home decorated for Christmas. As you walk in our front door we have this little tree sitting in our entry way As you can see I really like snowman! This is leading into the family room... This tree is in our family room and it is decorated with all of our family ornaments. Each year we buy the girls an ornament that represents something from the year for that child. It is a tradition that I have continued from my childhood. My favorite ornaments are the ones that are homemade by the girls! This is our big tree that is more formally decorated and is in our living room. 1 Year Later

Just the other day I was looking back at some of my posts and realized that I started our family blog 1 year ago this month. I can't believe it has already been a year. My first post was about celebrating the 4th of July at Mark and Jane's. On Friday we will be heading out to Mark and Jane's for another great 4th with our friends. I have really enjoyed keeping up with our family blog. I hope that you have also enjoyed reading each of my posts. My main reason for doing this blog was to keep in touch with our friends and family through various postings.
