Grumbling or Gratitude

As I have been reading through the Old Testament I have found it very interesting that the Israelites seem to complain a lot. At times I have found myself getting very frustrated and having a hard time trying to identify with the Israelites because of this. How could they question God when they have seen Him lead them out of slavery with one great miracle after another. Then as they begin their journey to the Promise Land, God provided a cloud to guide the Israelites by day and a pillar of fire by night. Food is scarce and water is virtually nonexistent in a wilderness - unless of course, you are eating manna from the dew and drinking water from rocks! Then I realized, wait a minute, I do the same thing that the Israelites did, I question God and I often complain. I have seen God provide many times in my own life and my families life and yet, there are times when I do not give God 100% of my trust, I tend to take things back into my own hands, as if I can do a better job than God

My Forever Valentine's

Image
This past Valentine's Day our plans changed several different times and I was a little disappointed, but in the end I realized that I got to spend the day with my 4 favorite people, my girls and my hubby! Usually for Valentine's Day I like to plan a special menu and then have the girls help me decorate the table and get out the candles, but this year we ordered pizza and then we enjoyed the chocolate fountain. This was definitely the highlight of our evening. We had strawberries, bananas, graham stick, pretzels, pound cake, marshmallows and cookies to dip in our chocolate. It was very yummy! Each of the girls wanted to take a picture of us, this one Myah actually took, pretty good! The girls sure love their daddy! Mommy and her girls In case you were wondering what is all over Myah's face.....that afternoon the girls were putting on some tattoo's they got from their Valentine parties at school. Good thing they washed off before church the next day.

Growing

A little over a year ago I asked a few close friends if they would like to join me in doing a Bible study. I really started it out of my own selfish desire, I was reading a book and I knew I would get so much more out of it if I was reading it with a few friends plus I'm always looking for an opportunity to get together with my girlfriends. So we started and enjoyed the first book so much we decided to read through another book. Both books were great and I know that I really learned a lot. We finished up our last book this past December and started thinking about what we would want to do next. We had talked about several different options but the one we kept coming back to was trying to read the Bible through in a year and discuss it as we go along. I was excited but also a little nervous because I have tried this so many times before and have not succeeded. I know it is only February but I have really enjoyed this. I think the one thing that has changed this time is that I am not

Super Bowl Sunday!

My husband was pretty excited to be having some friends over to watch the Superbowl this year. And you would think if you saw this great big huge antenna, sitting on our back patio, that he must really be in to watching football, but I think he was really setting all this up so he could see the commercials in High Definition. Truth be told he is not much into Football, which you won't hear any complaining here. So the guys watched the game on TV while us girls played some board games. I'm not very competitive but I know how much my friend Kelly is, so I wouldn't want to mention any names of a certain someone who one at Blokus and was able to use all of her pieces, sorry!!!! The kids were very excited to have their friends over to play!

Our weekend with Grammy & Grandpa

Image
I'm a little behind again on my blogging, but I wanted to post some pictures from last weekend when Jeremy's parents came to visit. They came out on a Friday and took the girls with them back to the hotel to stay the night so mom and dad could have a date night. It was very nice and we really appreciated it!! We got to eat at one of our favorite restaurants, PF Changs and go and see a movie. I heard the kids had a blast swimming at the hotel and eating lots of yummy and healthy snacks!! Way to go with the healthy snacks! : ) On Saturday we did a little shopping in Defiance and then headed back home. Grammy got busy fixing a couple of the girls special blankets while Grandpa played Wii and watched Prince Caspian with the girls. It was a very nice weekend and we were glad to see them!!! Thank you for fixing our blankets Grammy!!! Marissa enjoyed getting to help with her blanket she didn't leave Grammies side until she was done with it! Snuggled up with Grandpa watchin

Snow Day

Image
Well I don't know about all of you, but we are ready for Spring!!! I always enjoy one big snow when school has to be cancelled and the kids can go outside and play in the snow. Well this year seems like we have had several big snow days and lots of school delays and cancellations. So I am about done with winter and ready for Spring! I love Spring because everything that has died comes back to life, and I love getting to play in the dirt and plant some new things!!! I'm also ready for my herb garden again. Well here are a few pictures from our last big snow. Here is Myah making a snow angel! I think someone looks like they are ready for summer! Even Molly got to join in the fun!
